All square at bottom

A SUB-STANDARD performance from Ammanford saw them having to settle for a share of the spoils in this relegation dogfight.

Ammanford opened the scoring after ten minutes when Jamie Harries shot from outside the area, wrong-footed keeper Dave Jones and the ball was deflected in.

Corries replied just five minute later with a well taken goal from Liam Grant after some lax marking inside the box.

Ammanford almost hit back when a Tristan Lewis free-kick went just wide of Terry Ward's attempted header.

With play going from end to end Ammanford won a penalty and although keeper Jones saved the spot-kick, Paul Hughes followed well to score from the rebound.

Although Ammanford played below their usual standard of late, Corries were unable to score. That changed on the hour when Mike Saloloney put the sides level.

Ammanford struggled for the remainder of the match and Corries missed a number of goal-scoring chances.

Ammanford are away to Merthyr Saints on Saturday.

lThe seconds, meanwhile, won 7-4 away to Seven Sisters.

Going in 5-0 up at half-time, they scored a further two goals to go 7-0 up before Seven replied.

Ammanford's scorers were Jordan Morris (3), Matthew Robbins (2), Cerison Davies and Anthony Douglas. On Saturday the seconds are home to Carmarthen.
