Match Report - 22 Aug 2009, Ammanford AFC Firsts beat Llangeinor

Llan need time to gel

DIVISION TWO

Ammanford 4

Llangeinor0

A NEW Llangeinor side looked as if it needed time to blend at Ammanford.

Llan chief Neil Foulkes introduced no fewer than seven new players against the Rice Roaders, who led 1-0 at the break.

Goalkeeper Matt Evans was with Pontyclun last term, with defenders Kristopher Rees and Richard Hopkin signing from Tonyrefail and Cambrian and Clydach respectively.

The midfield pairing of Simon Rees and Darren Jones also came from Cambrian and Clydach, while Ashley Davies came from Cardiff Corries and strike partner Rhys Lewis moved from Pontypridd.

At times it was a getting-to-know-you exercise for Llan, who fell behind to a Luke Fayres strike.

Llan matched the Carmarthenshire side during the first half before conceding ground afterwards.

Further goals from Luke Harris, Fayres and Matt Jones sealed a comfortable win for Ammanford, managed by former Bridgend Town star Phil Fisher.

Llangeinor, who visited UWIC last night (Wednesday), host Cwmbran Town on Saturday.
