Match Report - 14 Mar 2009, Ammanford AFC Firsts beat Grange Harlequins
AMMANFORD kept up their charge with another superb victory on Saturday.
The hosts had an early setback when Daniel Gibson scored in the tenth minute.
Dean Jenkins looked to be through on 15 minutes but was fouled and the free-kick was scrambled clear. Jenkins went clear on another two occasions but was given offside.
He made no mistake on 20 minutes though when a great through ball from Luke Fayres was converted.
It took a timely tackle from Cerith Williams on 40 minutes when he was the last man to keep Ammanford level and they then took the lead two minutes from half time when a through ball from James Murray sent Matthew Jones through and the youngster made no mistake.
Ten minutes into the second half the visitors had a player sent off, giving Ammanford the chance to pull further away with a Richard Lewis individual effort. Although the match was played in good spirit it still ended with two red cards for the visitors.
Full credit to Ammanford, they still strived to add to their goal tally but bad luck and bad options didn’t help against nine men.
Next Saturday, Ammanford are away to Cwmbran Celtic. The reserves play on Sunday
